Sigiriya

Sigiriya is Sri Lanka's most iconic landmark — a 200-metre volcanic rock crowned with the ruins of an ancient royal palace, reached via a stairway that passes 1,500-year-old frescoes and the famous Mirror Wall. Climb at dawn to beat the heat and the crowds, then explore the water gardens at its base, one of the oldest landscaped gardens in the world.
