Wilpattu

Wilpattu is the island's largest national park, named for its 'villus' — natural sand-rimmed lakes scattered through dense forest. Far quieter than Yala, it offers leopard and sloth-bear sightings in genuine wilderness, with far fewer jeeps to share the moment with. A rewarding choice for travellers who want their safari wild.
